08/2018 to 09/2023 Before and After

I can't remember what I weighed when I started in 2018 but I lost 30 lbs in the first 4 months. This year 2023 I started at 205 lbs and weighed this morning at 161 lbs! The highest I ever weighed was 255 lbs.

Type 2 Diabetes was out of control and I was haphazard at taking my meds consistently, life was so unfair.

Then I found the Homemade Method and Anna Rakoczy or they found me, my life changed at that point.

Healthy choices were my mantra. The recipes taste so good, they give me the energy I hadn't had for many years.

Of course this progress changed my lab numbers exponentially. All numbers are in excellent range and drumroll please... No more insulin!!! Wow the dr used all her positive adjectives. Loss of 44 lbs this year.

This is huge! Yes I told her about Homemade and I have been eating like this since 2018, sometimes better than others, 2022-2023 have been my best.

P.S. the Dr. said several times, "You are listening to your body

For the first time, I have attained something remarkable as an adult. Many years of failed diets, poor self image, and feelings of personal failure, hundreds of dollars spent on sham internet diet programs - I almost didn't sign up for this program.

I began in June 2024 - starting weight 228 lbs. My age 69. I had given up all hope. But thought just one more try. After all I love cooking - love organic - and have so many health issues - high BP, high A1C, arthritis, inflammation, i just felt OLD! 4 months in I am down 35 lbs. For me nothing short of miraculous! Best of all alot less pain - more mobility- every day is better than the last. My journey is far from over.

Hey guys, I just have to tell you about the craziest thing I think I've ever experienced. I was picking up all the food on my list at the grocery, and then felt like I wanted to have a little treat. None of the candy looked good, at all, but then I thought about a nectarine and suddenly I couldn't live without one. I have to say, it was the best nectarine I've maybe ever eaten in my entire life.

You have to understand-I flippin love candy, and used to eat around a POUND of it a day. Had you told me four weeks ago when I started this that the thought of a snickers bar or some red licorice would turn my stomach, I would NOT believe you. Yet, here I am, 14 pounds lighter and a freaking nectarine addict.

Life is good.

Hi,

I joined HMM in April of this year. So far I'm down 45 pounds, I've gone from a size 16 to a size 8 loosely fit.

I'm down 8 inches in my waist, 7 inches hips and 4 inches on my thighs. I don't know about anything else (I hadn't measured) my blood pressure has dropped from 184/80 to 116/80 my A1c is down from 6.5 to 5.1. Over the last few years I had gained weight due to pain from multiple injuries and the inability to move. I've had hip, shoulder and last of my surgeries 4 fusions in my back in February of this year. I was determined Lord willing,that I was going to make the best recovery possible. I came across Hmm on Facebook and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. I've been blessed tremendously, not only did I finally have my surgery, which alleviate much of my pain and allowed me to move more but I found Hmm which gave me the tools I needed to move forward in my recovery. I have so enjoyed all the support and resources available as well as seeing so many amazing people on this page.

Beautiful photos and great gains by so many. I'm so very blessed to be a part of hmm and part of this community. Oh and I almost forgot. The food is delicious and I actually enjoy making it. That's from someone who really doesn't like to cook. I can't wait to see what's on the menu next week

Jumping on the contest at the last minute because that's how I am.

I joined in November and absolutely love HMM. The first photo is from October on the day I found out I had borderline diabetes and high cholesterol. I'll have blood work done in a couple weeks and assume those numbers are down. I'm down about 25 pounds and a couple sizes. I had quit cooking since I became an empty nester, but have cooked almost everything since I joined. I love the recipes, the support, the classes, the whole shebang. I tell everyone they should try HMM

Hello everyone.

I wasn't sure I wanted to do an introduction here but since I'm about 4 weeks in - I guess I should. I'm 47, high blood pressure for a few years, and recently diagnosed diabetic in July. For the month of August I cut out all fast food, soda, cookies, candy etc. and increased my exercise on my own. I just joined HMM at the start of September in part to get the fighting cholesterol recipes since my husband just "casually" mentioned his doctors were concerned that his cholesterol was a bit high. Since July I'm down about 14 lbs and my morning blood sugar testing is down by 60+ from where I started. This morning, the "listen to your body" and "eating for satisfaction and nourishment" ideas from the week 2 mindset video really kicked in. I tried to listen to what my body wanted for breakfast this morning and you know what it said?? Roasted Brussel Sprouts! What?! Okay - so I cooked some up and had a bowl of roasted brussel sprouts with a side of a leftover Berry Parfait Mini Tarts with greek yogurt. Seems like this is going to be an interesting journey, but so good so far. Starting out picture from July Vacation in NY below as my contest entry (with one from today)

Before and after photos. Sometimes I wonder if there's a difference but, yes there is.

Since joining HMM almost 3 years ago I am down around 20 lbs. I lost 25 or 28 in 4 months but some crept back on. During my 50's I was, for a time about 30 lbs higher.

I'm 66 now.

HMM (when I treated myself to an abundance of Whole Foods) had me feeling completely neutral in my body which is the biggest blessing. Not bloated or too full or uncomfortable in my body. That's my goal again. For me, it's eat more good food not simply less food, and proper balance!

I'm still doing okay and my body wants Whole Foods. Sweets arn't a temptation but life's stress takes it's toll and daily walks became a chore instead of a joy.

My 22 year old son is living with me and he appreciates the wonderful HMM recipes and especially me cooking them. Haha! That helps me because it's a motivator to get a Thank you and That was Very Good.

I would like to lose that 5 pounds again. Honestly, I'd love to lose it in my breasts even more than waist..

I am a type 2 diabetic and not on any meds. Im borderline to being in the pre diabetic range since HMM and my cholesterol went down to 175 from around 205.

My doctor supports no meds and I'm thankful for that.

In a nutshell. Life goes on. I always thought life would be easy street at this age. Good Grief!!! It's not, but it's pretty great in most ways. Feeling good and healthy are a huge help in my overall well-being.

Hard to find Before pics as I didn't like my picture taken and hated how I looked. When I joined I didn't think to have my family take pics of me either.

But here is a sample of me BEFORE and NOW. Now is not after as I am not finished yet!

Until now, I have lost approx. 65 lbs. or 30 Kgs.

I have gone from a high dose BP to half dose, to no dose at all!

I have improved my LDL and Triglycerides. I haven't had blood taken for a while though, so I am hoping HDL has improved now too. I have gone from almost Pre Diabetic to a safe place. My doctor was amazed and wondered if what I was doing was sustainable and I said DEFINITELY!

I still hope to lose more weight but it is coming off slowly and sometimes just in a plateau for a while.

I love HMM. It makes total sense and I can apply the principles in any situation I find myself in (cooking, shopping, eating out etc).

I now allow my pic to be taken and even do the odd selfie.

More importantly, I am happier with myself and am out meeting with people and not hiding away.

Hello ladies! Here are my before and after progress pics. I've been doing the HMM cooking program for 5 months now and I've lost 20 pounds. The biggest difference I see in the photos is my belly size. But I also feel better in my body, sleep better, lowered my BP, and most importantly feel proud of myself for finally doing this! I still struggle with occasional emotional eating, cravings, and overeating (I may always struggle with that). But I find that when I fall off the program I can self correct and get back on pretty quickly now, which is huge for me! Ironically, the most significant change I've noticed is in the way I feel and look when I go off the program and gravitate back to old bad habits...WOW what a difference! I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful ladies in this group for your inspiration and encouraging words. And huge thank yous to the wonderful coaches for all your help and support, to Chef Lizzie for the delicious recipes and helpful videos, and to Anna for this wonderful life changing program!

Posting a before and after photo. The before was in summer '22 and the after was in in later Aug. '23. I've lost about 15 pounds on HMM since about May. I haven't checked yet, but I am hoping my cholesterol is lower. I haven't had any (well almost none) processed sugar since starting this plan and THAT is an amazing change. I think I was truly a sugar addict-- probably my entire life. I feel like I am eating much healthier and my husband is, too!

I finally decided to post my before and after pictures. I joined HMM in November 2023 to help me lower my high blood pressure, cholesterol, reduce my belly fat and to help me control my inflammation. I haven't lost any weight accordingly to my scale, but I do have more energy to do things and my clothes fits differently. My family/friends say I am losing weight. I always wanted to learn how to cook and eat healthier for me and my family. I am doing it with this program and I feel good about that.

Here are my before and after pictures. I was 160 lbs in the first which is a lot when you are only 5'2". The second weigh in is 120 lbs. I joined Dec. 1 of last year and lost those 40 lbs in 6 months. I am easily maintaining the loss since that time. My reason for doing HMM was to find a way of eating that was maintainable. I also desperately needed to reduce inflammation since I have had 2 knee and 2 hip replacements and have more arthritis in shoulders and my right hand. I go to the gym 3-4 times each week and really work out hard. That was impossible before due to low energy/motivation and pain. My story might not be the greatest before and after story, but it is HUGE for me! Thank you HMM for the life change that I can do for the rest of my life!

I came across Hmm on Facebook and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. I've been blessed tremendously, not only did I finally have my surgery, which alleviate much of my pain and allowed me to move more but I found Hmm which gave me the tools I needed to move forward in my recovery. I have so enjoyed all the support and resources available as well as seeing so many amazing people on this page.

Beautiful photos and great gains by so many. I'm so very blessed to be a part of hmm and part of this community. Oh and I almost forgot. The food is delicious and I actually enjoy making it. That's from someone who really doesn't like to cook. I can't wait to see what's on the menu next week

Posting a before and after photo. The before was in summer '22 and the after was in in later Aug. '23. I've lost about 15 pounds on HMM since about May. I haven't checked yet, but I am hoping my cholesterol is lower. I haven't had any (well almost none) processed sugar since starting this plan and THAT is an amazing change. I think I was truly a sugar addict-- probably my entire life. I feel like I am eating much healthier and my husband is, too!

Jumping on the contest at the last minute because that's how I am.

I joined in November and absolutely love HMM. The first photo is from October on the day I found out I had borderline diabetes and high cholesterol. I'll have blood work done in a couple weeks and assume those numbers are down. I'm down about 25 pounds and a couple sizes. I had quit cooking since I became an empty nester, but have cooked almost everything since I joined. I love the recipes, the support, the classes, the whole shebang. I tell everyone they should try HMM

I finally decided to post my before and after pictures. I joined HMM in November 2023 to help me lower my high blood pressure, cholesterol, reduce my belly fat and to help me control my inflammation. I haven't lost any weight accordingly to my scale, but I do have more energy to do things and my clothes fits differently. My family/friends say I am losing weight. I always wanted to learn how to cook and eat healthier for me and my family. I am doing it with this program and I feel good about that.

Hello everyone.

I wasn't sure I wanted to do an introduction here but since I'm about 4 weeks in - I guess I should. I'm 47, high blood pressure for a few years, and recently diagnosed diabetic in July. For the month of August I cut out all fast food, soda, cookies, candy etc. and increased my exercise on my own. I just joined HMM at the start of September in part to get the fighting cholesterol recipes since my husband just "casually" mentioned his doctors were concerned that his cholesterol was a bit high. Since July I'm down about 14 lbs and my morning blood sugar testing is down by 60+ from where I started. This morning, the "listen to your body" and "eating for satisfaction and nourishment" ideas from the week 2 mindset video really kicked in. I tried to listen to what my body wanted for breakfast this morning and you know what it said?? Roasted Brussel Sprouts! What?! Okay - so I cooked some up and had a bowl of roasted brussel sprouts with a side of a leftover Berry Parfait Mini Tarts with greek yogurt. Seems like this is going to be an interesting journey, but so good so far. Starting out picture from July Vacation in NY below as my contest entry (with one from today)

Here are my before and after pictures. I was 160 lbs in the first which is a lot when you are only 5'2". The second weigh in is 120 lbs. I joined Dec. 1 of last year and lost those 40 lbs in 6 months. I am easily maintaining the loss since that time. My reason for doing HMM was to find a way of eating that was maintainable. I also desperately needed to reduce inflammation since I have had 2 knee and 2 hip replacements and have more arthritis in shoulders and my right hand. I go to the gym 3-4 times each week and really work out hard. That was impossible before due to low energy/motivation and pain. My story might not be the greatest before and after story, but it is HUGE for me! Thank you HMM for the life change that I can do for the rest of my life!

Before and after photos. Sometimes I wonder if there's a difference but, yes there is.

Since joining HMM almost 3 years ago I am down around 20 lbs. I lost 25 or 28 in 4 months but some crept back on. During my 50's I was, for a time about 30 lbs higher.

I'm 66 now.

HMM (when I treated myself to an abundance of Whole Foods) had me feeling completely neutral in my body which is the biggest blessing. Not bloated or too full or uncomfortable in my body. That's my goal again. For me, it's eat more good food not simply less food, and proper balance!

I'm still doing okay and my body wants Whole Foods. Sweets arn't a temptation but life's stress takes it's toll and daily walks became a chore instead of a joy.

My 22 year old son is living with me and he appreciates the wonderful HMM recipes and especially me cooking them. Haha! That helps me because it's a motivator to get a Thank you and That was Very Good.

I would like to lose that 5 pounds again. Honestly, I'd love to lose it in my breasts even more than waist..

I am a type 2 diabetic and not on any meds. Im borderline to being in the pre diabetic range since HMM and my cholesterol went down to 175 from around 205.

My doctor supports no meds and I'm thankful for that.

In a nutshell. Life goes on. I always thought life would be easy street at this age. Good Grief!!! It's not, but it's pretty great in most ways. Feeling good and healthy are a huge help in my overall well-being.
