Complete your Weekly Challenge

Weekly challenge

Make like a real Homemade Chef and sear something for dinner this week! Your bonus challenge is to practice LISTENING to your body whenever you eat this week.  As always, we invite you to complete our discussion questions below to reflect on & share your progress.

NOW SHARE YOUR PROGRESS IN THE HOMEMADE MEMBERS’ FACEBOOK GROUP BY ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS:

1. How was last week’s Sensational Salads challenge? Share your thoughts & progress in the FB Group!

Did you succeed in making 4 Sensational Homemade Salads for work last week? Were they Nourishing & Satisfying? Do you have any tips to share on how you were able to fit this into a busy working week? Share your Sensational Salad pics here!

2. Share in the FB Group what do you think it means to ‘Listen to your Body’ when it comes to eating? Afterwards, have a read of 2-3 of the other Members’ responses and write a quick comment to show your support & learning together!

What do you think happens when you ‘Listen to your Body’? Can you give examples from your life? How is this different to eating whatever you want, whenever you want it?

BUILD ON IT: Continue to enjoy Homemade Smoothies, Homemade Breakfasts & Homemade Salads as much as you can.  Try to use your oven to cook a couple of ingredients or dishes one time this week.  And remember to keep applying the principles of flavor combining in your cooking by adding a little sweet, salty, sour, bitter & fat in everything you prepare. This is the simple trick to making everything taste great!

TIPS FOR SUCCESS:

  • One of the great things about searing is it’s fast, easy, healthy & delicious!  Try any of our searing recipes or invent your own.  Make sure you follow our searing guide to ensure success & troubleshoot common issues.
  • To make a complete meal, try adding a couple of vegetables to the pan after your meat, chicken or fish is removed with a little oil or water and cook for a couple of minutes to flavor and soften. Serve your protein with the lightly cooked vegetables and a side salad or grain.
  • To complete the BONUS CHALLENGE and LISTEN to your Body, simply ask yourself the following questions every time you want to eat something this week:
    1. Am I really hungry?  If not, can I do something other than eating?
    2. If so, what is the most healthful, nourishing way to satisfy my hunger?
  • Remember, it is not about being perfect, but about practicing mindfulness and setting an intention.  Over time it will become easier and feel completely natural to eat by listening to your body.
