Complete your Weekly Challenge

Weekly challenge

Enjoy at least one Homemade snack every day this week.  Focus on applying the Homemade Principles, COOK, EAT, LISTEN, whenever you snack from now on. Complete the Discussion Questions attached below & upload your photos from last week.

NOW SHARE YOUR PROGRESS IN THE HOMEMADE MEMBERS’ FACEBOOK GROUP BY ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS:

1. Were you successful with last week’s Herbs & Spices Cooking Challenge? Let us know & share your pics in our FB Group!

Did you try any new herbs or spices? Did you try making any of the dry or wet marinades? What did you cook with them so far? Were you happy with the end results? Anything you would do differently next time? Upload your photos here.

2. What are your ‘trip hazards’ for cravings & bad snacking? Identify some new behaviors to try instead! Read some other Members’ responses and add 2 suggestions to help other Members in our Facebook Group.

Read this week’s Mindset piece on Snacking. Now identify 3-4 very specific ‘Trip Hazards’ for cravings & bad snacking you face. Then write out 3-4 very specific new behaviors you can try instead. If you are able to test them out – and report back on the outcomes even better!

BUILD ON IT: Continue to enjoy Homemade Smoothies, Homemade Breakfasts & Homemade Salads as often as you can, adding fresh herbs & spices wherever possible.  Continue to practice flavor combining, using your oven, searing & cooking grains.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS:

  • From now on, try to substitute your Homemade snacks for any snacks you normally buy.  You can have the same Homemade snack every day or mix it up with several different choices.
  • Make one or two batches of snack recipes on the weekend, pack in individual serving size containers, and have them ready for the working week. Don’t pack in bulk if possible as this can lead to grazing or overdoing it.
  • To set yourself up for success and avoid temptations, clear out your cupboard at home and at work of any ‘unhealthy’ snacks.
  • Experiment with your approach to snacking and see what works best for you over time. Always return to the Homemade Principles, COOK your own snacks, EAT whole, natural snacks and LISTEN to your body, so you snack mindfully.
